THIS IS A 3RD SHIFT POSITION – 11 PM TO 7 AM

TITLE: Maintenance Technician                                                        PLANT: Comac

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance                                                            REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-exempt                                                

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Maintain and repair production equipment while supporting all departments to provide quality machine parts for customers.  Safely perform all tasks required to meet safety and production goals while maintaining a 7S system, participating in continuous Improvement and supporting team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains assigned production machine uptime.
  • Performs continuous improvements in department.
  • Responsible for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) variables.
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance (PM) per maintenance department specs.
  • Informs Maintenance Technician Lead or Shift Managers of down machines.
  • Replaces all shop tools and supplies after use.
  • Signs out all parts removed from tool crib.
  • Fill out parts request for any parts needed.
  • Complete daily checks (if not completed by previous shift, next shift is responsible).
  • Perform torque and leak tester verification procedures.
  • Documents MP2 (Maintenance Software) for all work done.
  • Communicates with shift Maintenance Technician Lead on work priorities and end of shift follow-up.
  • Communicates with incoming/outgoing maintenance technicians on problems/issues encountered during working shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management. 
  • Able to work weekends and overtime as required.
  • Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
  • Follows all IATF16949 and ISO 14001 guidelines.
  • Maintains safe work habits and follows all Gibbs Die Casting LOTO, Arc Flash, and Fall Protection guidelines.
  • Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.
  • Follows all Environmental Policy and Quality Policy guidelines.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established Gibbs 7-S Guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management. 

REQUIRED SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education, knowledge, skills and abilities:

Education:  High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree.

Certifications: 

Experience: One (1) or more years related experience. (Vocational degree in maintenance related field is acceptable for experience).

Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Other: Ability to lift 100 pounds; able to work on platform lifts up to 30 feet; follow all safety procedures for work above 6 feet off the ground.  Will be required to obtain to Gibbs Electrical training, (NFPA70E and Arc Flash) Lockout/Tagout, Fork Truck, Aerial Lift,
