Hydraulics Department Manager / Team Lead


Our Evansville, IN location has immediate openings for experienced Hydraulics Department Manager / Team Lead. Additionally, we are seeking full time CNC Machinist, Manual Machinist, Hone Operators, Cylinder Technicians, Rebuild Technicians and Hydraulic Test Technician.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Timely review and implementation of continuous improvement suggestions
* Reduce non-value added (NVA) activities and streamline work processes
* Continuously monitor the value stream to identify problems and sponsor Kaizen events to reduce waste.
* Coach team members to a higher level of performance while grooming future leaders
* Actively pursue and document permanent cost reductions
* Lead team by example, demonstrating the proper procedures and processes to follow
* Continue to develop knowledge in assigned product area in order to assist team members
* Complete team member annual performance reviews
* Update team member training folders regularly and maintain ISO skills matrix on a quarterly basis
* Work as a liaison as needed between the assigned department and other departments
* Answer customer and internal calls to trouble shoot problems, update the progress of jobs, and assist with hot rush orders
* Ensure daily schedule sent by production control is completed. Communicate any variance from the schedule to production control.  Update schedule status via email group daily.
* Maintain proper staffing levels and skill set in each area of responsibility.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
* High school diploma or GED required
* Basic mechanical knowledge and ability – especially in the Hydraulics arena
* Strong mathematical skills
* Strong understanding in hydraulics and pneumatics
* Strong understanding of pumps and valves
* Basic computer skills
* 4+ years’ experience in similar position
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to interpret prints and drawings
* Ability to work independently
* Overtime may be required based on customer demand

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Brake Supply requires that you wear metatarsal steel-toed safety shoes and safety eye protection for this job.  You are responsible for acquiring metatarsal steel-toed safety shoes that meet ANSI standards.  Brake Supply will provide safety eye protection that meets ANSI standards appropriate for the position.  If you wear prescription glasses, and do not wish to wear over the glass glasses, it is your responsibility to acquire safety frames and lenses that meet ANSI standards.
