Koch Air, LLC has been focused on the distribution of quality Carrier residential and commercial products since 1936, and is among the oldest and largest Carrier distributors.  Today, Koch Air, has nine branch locations, 35 delivery vehicles, and more than 300,000 square feet of equipment and parts warehousing throughout the Midwest. 

We are seeking an experienced Residential Sales Manager to lead our Residential Sales team in St. Louis.


  • Perform all duties in accordance with Koch Air and Koch Enterprises Code of Conduct, Values, Ethics, Environmental, Safety, and Human Resources policies

  • Develop, communicate, and implement clear sales, marketing, and growth plans within budgets of assigned accounts and in assigned territory to achieve sales, margin, share of wallet, and share of market targets in all counties by growing existing accounts and recruiting new accounts.  All products should be in the 2nd Quartile of Carrier performance rankings.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Koch Air and Koch Enterprises Code of Conduct, Values, Ethics, Environmental, Safety, and Human Resource Policies. 

  • Fully understand, promote, and train all sales team members on Koch Air core products (equipment, parts, supplies, and services), dealer programs, advertising, promotions, warranty procedures, business processes, E-commerce, and other programs and policies.  Actively look for and recommend improvements.  Identify specific needs for each team member.  Reinforce all training.

  • Lead all sales team members in the process of using the Koch Air Value Proposition to recruit new customers, increase the loyalty of existing customers, and protect our brand reputation and margins.

  • Lead all sales team members in the use of Customer Development Plans to focus efforts and manage time for superior territory performance.  Coach as required. 

  • Lead all sales team members to identify needs and conduct training meetings for customers on Koch Air products and business processes, and customer lead generation, business management and customer service to help our customers grow their businesses.

  • Lead the sales team to survey customers, review quotes and orders to detect business trends and opportunities for new core products, services, and accounts.  Make specific recommendations on inventory management to help Purchasing optimize turns and availability and refine the core product list. 

  • Facilitate developing and maintaining consultative teamwork between customers and the Customer Finance department.  Assist in collecting accounts if requested.

  • Maintain Koch Air files as required by Carrier and Koch Air.

  • Prepare and submit sales forecasts, budgets, expense reports, competitor activities, competitive pricing studies and requests for competitive pricing and other reports as required.

  • Perform other duties assigned to achieve the Koch Air Strategic Plan.


  • BA degree in business and/or 8 years of responsible equivalent sales experience, preferably in HVAC.

  • 3 years of Sales Management experience.


  • Must be responsive to customers and exhibit a service and sales attitude.

  • Ability to problem solve in a positive manner and lead others to exceptional performance.

  • Ability to understand customer requirements and manage the customer relationship.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills both written and verbal required.

  • Ability to use PC, Microsoft Office suite proficiently.
